Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Daily Social ("Daily Social", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares, retains and protects information when you use our mobile applications, websites, social features, marketplace features and related services (collectively, the "Services").
By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy. If a third-party service is linked from or integrated with the Services, its own privacy policy applies to information it processes independently.
Information we collect
Account and profile information
When you sign in, we may receive your name, email address and profile picture from your chosen identity provider. We also collect information you add, such as your username, display name, biography, profile photo, preferences and account settings.
Content and social activity
We collect content you create or upload, including text, photos, GIFs, videos, categories and scheduled content. We also process comments, likes, favourites, follows or group memberships, blocks, reports, sharing activity and other interactions.
Communications
We process direct messages, conversation metadata, seller or buyer questions, support requests, reports, notification records and communication preferences. Direct messages are not represented as end-to-end encrypted.
Shopping and transaction information
When you buy or sell through the Services, we may collect product listings, prices, discounts, inventory, cart contents, orders, shipping addresses, fulfilment details, order-status history, return or refund requests and records needed for tax, accounting, fraud prevention and consumer protection.
Payment providers collect card or banking credentials through their secure interfaces. We do not receive or store full card numbers, CVV codes or online-banking credentials. We may receive limited payment information such as status, provider transaction identifiers, payment method type and refund status.
Device and service information
We may collect device and platform type, app version, authentication and session data, push-notification tokens, IP address, timestamps, crash information, diagnostic logs and security events needed to operate, troubleshoot and protect the Services.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Create, authenticate, maintain and secure your account.
- Publish, organise, recommend, schedule, retain and remove content according to the feature and your settings.
- Provide feeds, profiles, comments, reactions, favourites, messaging, blocking, reports, sharing and notifications.
- Display product listings, maintain carts and stock, process and track orders, connect buyers and sellers, and administer returns and refunds.
- Process subscriptions and other payments through authorised payment providers.
- Prevent fraud, spam, prohibited products, abuse and security incidents; enforce our Terms; and comply with legal obligations.
- Provide support, diagnose failures, measure feature performance and improve reliability and user experience.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use third-party advertising trackers to build advertising profiles.
Visibility and sharing
Other people
Your username, display name, profile photo, biography, public content, product listings and public interactions may be visible to other users or visitors as indicated in the Services. Some content is designed to change visibility or leave public feeds over time. Recipients may save or share information you send them, and deleting or expiring content does not remove copies independently retained by others.
Buyers and sellers
When you place an order, the relevant seller receives the order and shipping information reasonably needed to fulfil it. Buyers receive seller and product information needed to understand and manage the transaction. We do not authorise either party to use transaction information for unrelated marketing or other independent purposes.
Service providers
We use providers for identity and sign-in, cloud hosting and storage, databases, media delivery, notifications, app distribution, diagnostics and payment processing. These providers process information to deliver their services under their own terms and privacy notices.
Legal, safety and business reasons
We may disclose information to authorities, advisers, service providers or affected parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, detect or prevent fraud, protect safety, enforce agreements, defend legal rights, or support a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganisation or transfer of assets. Where appropriate, we will require a successor to respect this Policy.
Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the Services, follow your selected retention settings, maintain security, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations.
- Public content may follow time-limited visibility windows. Cleanup runs periodically, so removal may not be immediate or occur at an exact time.
- Profile, message, preference, block, report and security records are retained while needed to operate and protect the Services.
- Order, payment, tax, refund and fulfilment records may be retained after account deletion for periods required by tax, accounting, consumer-protection, anti-fraud and other applicable laws.
- Backups and provider logs may retain information for a limited period after deletion before being overwritten.
You may request account and personal-data deletion by using available in-service controls or emailing hello@dailysocial.in from the address associated with your account. We may verify your identity. Some records may be retained where legally required or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the features you use, you may edit profile information, delete content, adjust visibility and recommendation settings, manage messages and comments, block people, manage notification preferences, cancel eligible orders, request returns or refunds, and request account deletion.
Device permissions for photos, videos and notifications are requested only when relevant and can be changed in device settings. Disabling a permission may limit the related feature.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, update, delete or obtain a copy of personal information; withdraw consent; restrict or object to certain processing; nominate another person to exercise rights where permitted; or raise a grievance with us or an appropriate authority. To exercise a right, email hello@dailysocial.in. We may verify your identity and respond within the period required by law.
Security and international processing
We use authentication, access controls, provider security features and operational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security or that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered or lost.
Our providers may process information in India and other countries. Where required, we use available contractual, organisational or legal safeguards for cross-border processing.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 or under the minimum age required to consent to online services where they live. Users who have not reached the age of legal majority must use the Services only with any consent or supervision required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorisation, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Changes and contact
We may update this Policy as our Services or applicable law changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. We will provide appropriate notice of material changes.
